Amber Rose Responds To Kanye's "Shout Out" In Philly

It’s nothing like parting ways with an ex just to see them happy and in love in while you are somewhat lonely…

It seems as though that may be what Kanye is going through ever since he split with Amber Rose and she found love in Wiz’s arms. Earlier today, a clip circulated of Kanye freestyling to ‘Runaway’ in Philly while giving a subliminal shout out to Amber Rose. He told the audience,

“To the city of Philly, I want to thank y’all for making the incredible person that this song was made for…” before finishing his freestyle with the lyrics, ‘If I told you I didn’t like what you were wearing, don’t listen to me baby because I was being an a$$hole. And you’ll always be fine but the one thing I f*cked up the most was that I thought you’d always be mine.‘
Complex Magazine caught up with Amber Rose today to get her response to his somewhat apology and she says that although she forgives him, she believes he realizes that he was an asshole and is remorseful about it.

I’ll say this—I didn’t even know about it. This is my 50th interview today and every single person has asked me, and it made me go see what the hell they were talking about, because I don’t keep up on the current events of Kanye. I just don’t look him up.

Kanye called me an incredible person, and I take that as an apology. And if it was an apology, I forgive him for being an asshole. I don’t hate him.

A lot of it is just negativity and I don’t like to bring that energy into my life. But I did look at it and he said that, he said um, “When I said that I didn’t like your dress, I was an asshole. When I said that I didn’t like your hair, I was an asshole.”
And he was an asshole. He was. I feel like he gets that now, and he’s remorseful about being an asshole to me.

But he called me an incredible person, and I take that as an apology. And if it was an apology, I forgive him for being an asshole. I don’t hold any grudges. I don’t hate him. I want him to find a girl and for him to treat her better than he treated me.

The next girl, she doesn’t deserve that. I found pure happiness with Wiz. Why wouldn’t I want that for Kanye? I want everyone to have that, to feel the way I feel about Wiz.
Well that was a pretty mature response. Good for her!

Pusha T Talks The Difference Between Working With Kanye And Pharrell And Writing His “I’m So Appalled” Verse

Last week, SNEEZE Magazine published its full interview with Pusha T, and now we have some outtakes from the same sit-down. Read below for Pusha’s take on the difference between being in the studio with Kanye and Pharrell, working on tracks in Hawaii, and going solo with out his Clipse partner Malice. SNEEZE is shipping now and arriving in the U.S at boutiques like The Reed Space, Supreme, Commissary OC, KCDC Skateshop and more.

Is it bittersweet having success with your solo career without your brother, Malice?

No man, I don’t think so, ‘cause I think it will be greater later. I feel like I’m looking forward to the next Clipse project. Malice calls me and is like “Man I’m ready to rhyme, I got some shit,” like he still has that fire and that’s the best thing to me. I think it was dope that he sort of went and did this whole other project because I personally think it did something for him, I think it will make for great Clipse music. I’m actually like sort of scared of it because Malice has always been really good at what he does and what he brings to the table and the Clipse. I feel now that he got this whole other spark so I’m curious to see how it goes.

You’ve worked closely with Pharrell and Kanye, what’s the difference between their process of putting a song together?Working with P it’s like, by the time you get to the studio the track is there. And an idea is there and we might go back and forth to try and find the hook. With Kanye when I get with him it’s more of a blank canvas, starting from scratch. He has the idea beat-wise, he’ll give me that I’ll write to that, the part that I like lay it down. Then he takes it from me. And then he builds this whole roller-coaster ride around it. It’s more of a surprise because like I said you don’t know what he’s thinking. You don’t know what he hears, he hears shit you don’t hear, I know I’m going to run into a problem of demo-itis, where as like I’m married and in love with what I’ve heard, and he comes back and changes it.

You said the first thing you wrote in Hawaii was your “I’m So Appalled” verse, just rhyming with Jay and Kanye for your first look on that album must’ve been crazy…

It was actually just ‘Ye on it. I had already raved over the record because it leaked. I was like listen, there is no way this cant be on your album, you’d have to be crazy. He was like “Really, you think so?” I was like c’mon man we got to stop treating rap like oh it came out it’s dead. When it’s good, we have to make people love it and digest it. We can’t treat this like mixtape throwaways like everybody else does. Everybody else does half-ass music. So what people don’t know is that what Kanye did during that album is literally, I walked into the studio and I had the pick of 17 records and he was like do what you want to do to any of these, do what you like. First thing I heard was “Runaway,” I was like oh I love that, and I wrote that 5 times. He thought it was a big record and he was really adamant about that and he was really particular about my verse like “C’mon you got to get that right.” “I’m So Appalled,” I was like man listen this is one of them ones he was like listen you love it, go, just go rap. Everybody had that shot, and I even did “Lost In The World.” I stopped hanging out, we would get up play ball every morning, go eat breakfast, I might go eat breakfast but I would let them go play ball and I would go to the studio and try to write a cadence or something special for “Lost In The World” because I love that record so much. I didn’t get on that one, but that was the type of freedom you had to try and get on the records.

Amy Winehouse’s first posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures.

On Monday 31st,TheSun UK broke out the news on Amy Winehouse’s first posthumous album, titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The album is said to feature 12 unreleased songs that Amy was working on before her tragic death.

The album will be released on Dec. 5th.
Lioness: Hidden Treasures includes a track recorded while the troubled star was under the influence of heroin.

The new Amy Winehouse x Nas song, “Like Smoke” which posthumously fulfills the late singer’s wish to collaborate with her friend “Mr. Jones”, is the lead single of  It’s a gorgeous retro-soul track, in typical Winehouse style and produced by Salaam Remi back in 2008.Just listened to the lead single off the album. Here's Nas rhymes:
“…like a polygamist with a twist, will I marry again, maybe, I guess….”

“I be out in London, Camden, hunting for the answers why the God take away the homie. I can’t say that I’m a firm believer that we all meet up in eternity. Just hope the big man, show me some courtesy….“

Salaam Remi, who produced most of the tracks spoke on Amy’s legacy.

“When I listened back you would hear some of the conversations in between — that was emotional. It has been hard, but it has also been an amazing thing. Amy was a gifted girl. I believe she has left something beyond her years. She has put a body of work together that will inspire an unborn generation.”
Here's the track list and SHOWBIZ Editor Gordon Smart gives his verdict on Amy Winehouse's posthumous album.

1. OUR DAY WILL COME (Reggae Version): Re-working of classic '60s doo-wop song produced by Salaam Remi. Recorded May 2002.

2. BETWEEN THE CHEATS: New Amy composition recorded in London in May 2008 for potential inclusion on album three, produced by Salaam Remi.

3. TEARS DRY: First written by Amy as a ballad, this is the original version she recorded in November 2005 in Miami with Salaam. The later up-tempo version appears on Back To Black.

4. WAKE UP ALONE: The first song recorded for the Back To Black sessions. This is the one-take demo recorded in March 2006 by Paul O'Duffy.

5. WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW: Beautiful reading of the Carole King-written Shirelles classic. Produced by Mark Ronson and featuring the Dap Kings with string arrangements by Chris Elliott. Recorded in September 2004.

6. VALERIE: One of Amy's jukebox favourites, the original slower tempo version of the Mark Ronson-produced post-Back To Black single. Recorded in December 2006.

7. LIKE SMOKE featuring Nas: Amy and Nas became good friends after Amy name-checked the New York rapper on Back To Black's Me & Mr Jones. Like Smoke is Amy finally doing a song with one of her favourite artists. Produced by Salaam Remi. Recorded in May 2008.

8. THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA: The first song 18-year-old Amy sang when she went to Miami to record with Salaam. He remarked that "the way she re-interpreted this bossa nova classic made me realise I was dealing with a very special talent. Her approach to the song was so young and fresh, it inspired the rest of our sessions". Recorded in May 2002.

9. HALFTIME: Amy had talked to Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson of the Roots about working together. Amy and Salaam worked on Half-time since the Frank sessions. The result is beautiful. Recorded in August 2002.

10. BEST FRIENDS: Frank-era live set opener produced by Salaam Remi. Probably the first song that early Amy fans would have heard live. Recorded in February 2003.

11. BODY & SOUL with Tony Bennett: Cover of '30s jazz standard with hero Tony Bennett. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios London in March 2011 and produced by Phil Ramone. Amy's final studio recording.

12. A SONG FOR YOU: Heartbreaking and emotional version of the classic made famous by Donny Hathaway, Amy's favourite artist. The song was recorded in one take, just Amy and her guitar, at her home during spring 2009 as she battled her demons. Produced by Salaam Remi.

NEW Track: The Roots Feat. Big K.R.I.T. – “Make My”

The first leak off The Roots’ forthcoming concept album Undun,  features Big K.R.I.T.Don't we just love leaks.lol.
The Roots’ new album is going to be a 10 track orchestral concept album. The project will be a re-telling of the life of Redford Stephens (1974-1999) – using diary entries and internal monologues as the backbone for the entire LP.
Speaking about the album drummer ?uestlove said:
“We’ve been intentionally making our albums shorter in length so that they can be experienced as a continuous work. The music is band-oriented with an eye on the moody cinematic. As a DJ, I am the king of playlists, but I don’t want our albums to feel like a playlist or a mixtape for that matter. We want to tell stories that work within the album format and we want the stories to be nuanced and useful to people.

“undun is the story of this kid who becomes criminal, but he wasn’t born criminal. He’s not the nouveau exotic primitive bug-eyed gunrunner like Tupac’s character Bishop in Juice… he’s actually thoughtful and is neither victim nor hero. Just some kid who begins to order his world in a way that makes the most sense to him at a given moment… At the end of the day… isn’t that what we all do?”
My mind boggles as I listen to this joint.
Here's Undun track list
1. Sleep
2. Make My (feat. Big K.R.I.T.)
3. One Time
4. Kool On
5. The Jump
6. Stomp
7. Lighthouse
8. I Remember
9. Tip the Scale
10. Redford

J Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story [album]

I think this album will head straight to the top of the charts.
The Roc Nation signee's album has been long awaited ever since he surfaced with songs like "Lights Please" and later a single "Who Dat" after he was signed.
Cole uses this album to show his listeners how he's come up from the sidelines to the frontline and also goes deeper & personal on some of the songs.
15 of the 18 disc's tracks were solely produced by J Cole himself, giving the album a sense of authenticity.
However, Cole did include songs from his earlier mixtapes in the album which may be a slight disappointment to fans.
All the same, this being his debut album, he's done pretty well.
